More About Us
Fellowship Bible Church believes:
The Bible:
We believe that the Old and New Testaments are inspired by God and are without error in the original manuscripts. (2 Timothy 3:16; 1Thessalonians 2:13; 1 Corinthians 2:14-16)
God:
We believe in one God eternally existing in three persons - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Deuteronomy 6:4; John 1:1-2; Acts 5:3-4; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Matthew 28:19; Isaiah 48:16).
We believe that God the Son took human flesh in the person of Jesus Christ and that the Holy Spirit is a Person who convicts man of his sin. (1 Corinthians 2:9-10; John 3:5-7; John 14:16-17; John 16:11; Ephesians 1:13; Romans 8:9)
The Past, Present and Future Work of Christ:
We believe that Jesus Christ died as a substitutionary sacrifice for sin and that all who believe in Him are declared righteous on the basis of His death on the cross. (2 Corinthians 5:14; Mark 10:45; Romans 3:24-26; Romans 5:8-10; 1 Peter 3:16).
We believe in the bodily resurrection of Christ, His Ascension into heaven, and His personal, physical return to set up on Earth a kingdom in which he shall reign in righteousness and peace. (Acts 1:11; Matthew 24:30; Revelation 20:4-6).
Man:
We believe that Adam and Eve were created in the image of God, but man sinned and consequently experienced not only physical death, but also spiritual death (separation from God.) (Genesis 1:26-27; Genesis 2:17; Genesis 3:6; Romans 3:10-18, 23; Romans 5:12-19; Ephesians 2:1-3; Ephesians 4:17-19).
Salvation:
We believe that whoever trusts in the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior receives eternal life. This salvation is purely of grace, apart from any human effort or merit. (John 1:12; Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 3:28).
Life as a Christian:
We believe that all believers are kept eternally secure by the power of God. Further, the Holy Spirit gives special abilities to each believer which enable him to function especially well in a certain area of service. (1 Timothy 3:1-12; Titus 1:5-9; Philippians 3:12-16; Ephesians 4:11-16; 1 Corinthians 12:1-31; Romans 12:3-8).
The Church, The Body of Christ:
We believe that the purpose of the church is to glorify God by helping every believer mature in his relationship with Christ and by making the Savior known to the whole world. (Matthew 28:18-20; 2 Corinthians 5:18-20; John 17:18-20; Acts 1:8; Romans 10:12-15).
